Amy is an experienced and dedicated professional with over 15 years in the field of school nutrition. She is the former Senior Executive Director of Oakland Unified School District’s Nutrition Services Department.
During her tenure, she successfully implemented innovative initiatives such as salad bars in all schools, fostering healthier eating habits among students and increasing access to fresh produce. Notably, after COVID she reintroduced Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) programs in all elementary schools, ensuring that students start their day with a nutritious meal.
Additionally, she lead the implementation of convenient grab-and-go options for all secondary schools, addressing the diverse needs of students. Her commitment to promoting nutrition and well-being extends beyond Oakland, as she was also the Assistant Director at Napa Valley Unified School District in Napa County, California.
She is passionate about enhancing the nutritional landscape of educational institutions while offering scratch-cooked meals and locally procured ingredients, she brings a wealth of experience and a results-driven approach to the Chef Ann Foundation.
