Hey y'all, a country boy at heart, I have been in the food industry for over 30 years. I grew up in Oakland, CA, the baby out of 7 children. I am the first generation born in CA, my folks migrated from Louisiana in the early ‘60s. I have worked in every aspect of food and nutrition. From busser in a cafe to sous chef at an upscale retirement community, learning every step of the way. I have been in K-12 nutrition for the last three years and was instrumental in a program that trained special needs students in the culinary field, allowing them to pursue careers in food service.
