Albuquerque Public School District (NM)

I am a lifelong New Mexican and have dedicated my life to the Albuquerque Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services team, with over two decades of experience in school food service. After attending culinary school at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque in 1989, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of New Mexico, and I am credentialed as a School Nutrition Specialist. I have a deep love for children and a sincere passion for the school meal program. I believe nutritious meals are fundamental to student learning, wellbeing, success, and equity. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, friends, and family.

Who We Are

The Chef Ann Foundation is dedicated to promoting whole-ingredient, scratch-cooking in schools. Scratch-cooking enables schools to serve the healthiest, tastiest meals so that kids are well-fed and ready to learn.

Our Mission

Ensure that school food professionals have the resources, funding and support they need to provide fresh, healthy, delicious, cook from scratch meals that support the health of children and our planet.

Why Cooking in Schools Matters

We all want kids to feel and do their best in school. The foods they eat play a critical role in making that happen. But right now, too many kids don’t get the kind of meals they need to succeed.
