Devon Klatell is Vice President, Food, at The Rockefeller Foundation, where she leads work to advance a more nourishing, equitable, and sustainable food system.

She brings experience across philanthropy, the private sector, and food systems, with a strong record in strategy, innovation, and advocacy. Her initiatives have spanned food waste prevention, school nutrition, the True Cost of Food, and Food is Medicine. Devon holds a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.A. in food systems from New York University. As a parent, she is grateful her children enjoy scratch-cooked meals at school and is passionate about making that opportunity possible for families everywhere.

Why School Food Matters

American kids start their life-path in K–12 schools where they learn the skills necessary to thrive & meet their potential. While the country debates the best ways to teach them math, science & English, we spend little to no time on food & nutrition.
