Previously, Kevin worked as a security advisor for the Resettlement Support Center in Nairobi, Kenya, a NGO assisting the U.S. Department of State in the processing and resettlement of refugees. Before earning a Master’s degree in Non-Proliferation and Terrorism Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Kevin acted as Director of Operations at the Hedayah Center for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) in Abu Dhabi, where he helped coordinate participation between twenty nine countries and the EU to establish the World’s first center focused on non-coercive counterterrorism practices. Additionally, Kevin was Special Advisor to Congressman Patrick Murphy where he consulted on Foreign Policy and Armed Forces issues, including the repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT) policy.

Kevin attended the United States Military Academy at West Point where he was a member of the varsity ice hockey team and earned Dean’s List honors. Following graduation from West Point, Kevin served his country as a Field Artillery Officer in Korea, Germany and Iraq. During his service, Kevin received multiple awards including the Bronze Star Medal and Combat Action Badge.

Kevin is an accomplished athlete, playing ice hockey in Germany, the UAE and Australia following his career in the military and served as an assistant coach for the first all-Muslim women’s national ice hockey team (UAE). In his spare time, Kevin still enjoys traveling, hiking, teaching yoga, playing sports…more golf than hockey now as age tends to dictate.

Who We Are

The Chef Ann Foundation is dedicated to promoting whole-ingredient, scratch-cooking in schools. Scratch-cooking enables schools to serve the healthiest, tastiest meals so that kids are well-fed and ready to learn.

Our Mission

Ensure that school food professionals have the resources, funding and support they need to provide fresh, healthy, delicious, cook from scratch meals that support the health of children and our planet.

Why School Food Matters

American kids start their life-path in K–12 schools where they learn the skills necessary to thrive & meet their potential. While the country debates the best ways to teach them math, science & English, we spend little to no time on food & nutrition.
