K-12 Values-Aligned Supply Chains Intern

Scarlett joined the Chef Ann Foundation in May 2026 as a K-12 Values-Aligned Supply Chains Intern. In this role, she supports the Chef Ann Foundation’s work to drive sustainable food supply chain outcomes in school meal programs, including the Values-Aligned Purchasing Collectives (VAPC) program. She recently finished her sophomore year at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she is majoring in Integrative Physiology with minors in Business and Public Health.

Before joining the Chef Ann Foundation, she worked at CALF’s Lowell Ranch, a nonprofit teaching ranch, as both a volunteer and a field trip group leader for school groups. She helped teach students about sustainable agriculture practices and where their food comes from. She is also currently an undergraduate teaching assistant for nutrition courses at CU Boulder. Through these experiences, she has developed a passion for healthy, sustainable foods and supporting healthier lifestyles through food and education.

Outside of work and school, she enjoys boating, playing soccer, hiking with her dogs, and spending time outdoors in Colorado.

Why School Food Matters

American kids start their life-path in K–12 schools where they learn the skills necessary to thrive & meet their potential. While the country debates the best ways to teach them math, science & English, we spend little to no time on food & nutrition.
