Manager of Food Programs

Jen Hutchinson is a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute yr 2000 and has made a career out of ensuring that all children regardless of income have access to healthy food. Jen worked as the Youth Programs Manager for the Vermont Foodbank implementing the National Feeding America BackPack Program and School Food Pantry Program (VeggieVanGo in VT), She also worked for the State of Vermont Child Nutrition team as a consultant conducting administrative reviews of the School Nutrition Programs and focusing on the Provision 2 and Community Eligibility Provision. Currently Jen is the Manager of Food Programs for the Barre Unified Union School District. This is the district in which she lives and where her kids go to school. Jen is very thankful to be able to serve her community.

The Chef Ann Foundation is dedicated to promoting whole-ingredient, scratch-cooking in schools. Scratch-cooking enables schools to serve the healthiest, tastiest meals so that kids are well-fed and ready to learn.

Ensure that school food professionals have the resources, funding and support they need to provide fresh, healthy, delicious, cook from scratch meals that support the health of children and our planet. 

Why School Food Matters

American kids start their life-path in K-12 schools where they learn the skills necessary to thrive & meet their potential. While the country debates the best ways to teach them math, science & English, we spend little to no time on food & nutrition.
