School Food Operations Specialist

Before becoming a School Food Operations Specialist, Andrew spent over 20 years in the food business industry in New York City and California, holding various roles in restaurants, non-profits, and schools.

Notably, he spent 10 years at the Calhoun School in NYC as an integral part of their acclaimed scratch cook school food program. More recently, he worked as the Head Chef Trainer for a non-profit organization in San Diego that provided culinary job training for refugee women.  He is passionate about applying his experience to increase scratch cooking in schools.

When he’s not tinkering in the kitchen or behind the grill, Andrew can be found playing and coaching basketball, enjoying time with his wife and son, and cheering on his Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Who We Are

The Chef Ann Foundation is dedicated to promoting whole-ingredient, scratch-cooking in schools. Scratch-cooking enables schools to serve the healthiest, tastiest meals so that kids are well-fed and ready to learn.

Our Mission

Ensure that school food professionals have the resources, funding and support they need to provide fresh, healthy, delicious, cook from scratch meals that support the health of children and our planet.

Why School Food Matters

American kids start their life-path in K–12 schools where they learn the skills necessary to thrive & meet their potential. While the country debates the best ways to teach them math, science & English, we spend little to no time on food & nutrition.
