Caralyn Mendoza joined the Chef Ann Foundation in August 2025 as the Senior School Food Operations Specialist. In this role, she supports Northern California districts in building strong child nutrition programs with the resources to increase the capacity for scratch-cooking. Her work focuses on workforce development, operational efficiency, and expanding access to nourishing school meals.

Caralyn Mendoza joined the Chef Ann Foundation in August 2025 as the Senior School Food Operations Specialist. In this role, she supports Northern California districts in building strong child nutrition programs with the resources to increase the capacity for scratch-cooking. Her work focuses on workforce development, operational efficiency, and expanding access to nourishing school meals.
Caralyn earned her Hotel and Restaurant Management degree from Cal Poly Pomona and spent 15 years in the food and beverage industry before transitioning to public education. Over the next 25 years, she served in various K–12 roles, culminating in her position as Chief Business Official. In that role, she oversaw nutrition services and championed initiatives to improve meal quality and equity for students across her district.
Her deep understanding of hospitality and school operations uniquely positions her to support districts in transforming their food programs. Caralyn is passionate about mentoring emerging professionals and designing tools that make school food systems more effective and impactful.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to cook and is in pursuit of the perfect sourdough. She is an active supporter of the local FFA chapter, an active member, and an area treasurer of Delta Kappa Gamma, an organization supporting women educators.
